Samsung electronics has announced the new and improved Odyssey+ mixed reality headset with new and advanced display technology and more comfortable design.

The new Odyssey+ is suitable for gaming and provide Steam VR support, in addition to Windows Mixed Reality support.

The new headset has many minor improvements, Samsung claiming that they solved the screen-door effect problem, refers to as Anti-Screen Door Effect (Anti-SDE) Display technology, which is so common with today’s VR headsets.


Samsung HMD Odyssey+ Anti Screen Door Effect

The Anti-Screen Door Effect display technology to help reduce dizziness and nausea in users. It diminishes fixed pattern noise, delivering an estimated PPI (pixels per inch) of 1,233 PPI2.


Samsung HMD Odyssey+ Display Resolution


It comes with the dual 3.5” AMOLED displays and a combined resolution of 1,440 x 1,600 per eye.

In terms of audio, the built-in AKG premium headphones providing high quality 360-degree and realistic 3D sound and 6 Degrees Of Freedom tracking. The headset also includes built-in volume controls, allowing you to easily adjust the volume.

The 6DOF controller can detect your every move and distance traveled inside your mixed reality world and responding quickly to the slightest motion, which improves your gameplay movements.
